TotalScan™ is Scientific Visual’s most advanced scanner, engineered to inspect large raw crystal boules — up to 400 kg or 22 inches in diameter. Designed for high-value materials like sapphire, CaF2, LT/LN and other industrial crystals, TotalScan™ enables manufacturers to detect internal defects early and optimize core positioning, thereby maximizing yield.​


As all scanners in the Scientific Visual family, TotalScan™ provides a 3D view of internal material defects prior to crystal processing. The result is a detailed 3D model, showing both the surface profile and internal defects in one intuitive interface.

  • 4-Axis scanning: Comprehensive volume defect detection through multi-axis scanning.
  • Suitable for all crystal shapes: Suitable for all crystal growth methods, including Kyropoulos (KY), Heat Exchanger Method (HEM), Czochralski (CZ), as well as cored ingots. 
  • 3D Defect Visualization: Full 3D rendering of defects and outer skin in YieldPro™ software.
  • Optimized Core Positioning: Identifies defect-free zones within the crystal, guiding the best yield for the core extraction.
  • CNC Integration: Generates G-code for seamless integration with your CNC coring system.
